Christine Aji

I am graduate from the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), with a Magna Cum Laude Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a Master of Arts in Luxury and Fashion Management from SCAD eLearning. After interning for MBC Group, I went on to become a Junior Assistant at ITP Publishing, where I worked for Esquire and Harper's Bazaar Art Middle East. More recently I've worked with Vogue Arabia, alongside the design team to help launch the first issue.

I balance my day job with personal creative work, such as freelance projects and blogging, which garnered attention on social media and a loyal following. This allowed me to work on other exciting projects, from emerging brands to current design events.

My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to find points of tension behind the idea I’ve been assigned or am interested in. I do several iterations on each point and usually end up refining the one I find most controversial. In addition, I focus on user experience and conducting interactive studies to observe how the audience may interact with the design.

For me, controversy isn’t about instigation, but rather, a way to arrest your audience. It’s a way to plant a little bit of desire in their hearts; a yearning to turn the page and learn more about your idea. Ultimately, it’s about creating memorable images.
